Why does CVS collect and store your personal data?

CVS provides claims handling services in connection with insurance related claims. CVS is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

As part of our business, we retain and process personal data to enable us to provide claims advice. Personal data is provided to us by various routes: for example, data sent to us by insurers about their customers and others, data provided to us by other third parties and data sent to us direct.

We will process your personal data (which may include sensitive personal data) in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (2016)

We will also ensure that confidential information provided to us by our clients remains confidential; that it is not disclosed to others, except as may be required to deal with their matters and with appropriate consent, or as may be required by law, including in the detection and prevention of crime.

If we do so it will only be done it is comptatilbe with your original concept you gave us an in order to progress your claim more efficiently. We may process data through various validation and counter fraud-databases to help us check information provided and assist in the prevention and detection of crime. We may use your personal data for internal training and development purposes.

We will ensure that any third parties who are given access to your personal data are made aware of their duty to keep the information secure and of their obligations under the GDPR; we will also ask our suppliers to ensure that an adequate level of protection and security is applied to your data.

We will not keep your information for longer than is necessary; in some instances the law prescribes the length of time information should be retained for, but in most cases we will use our discretion to retain information for as long as it may reasonably be required in connection with our normal business activities and in accordance to our Data Retention and Archiving Policy.
